Vehicles in Germany's City Discovered Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Police Confirm

Officers mentioned they were alerted by a individual who discovered a automobile in Hanau marked with red-colored liquid

Around fifty vehicles have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Cars, exterior walls and postboxes were defaced, occasionally with swastikas, they announced in a official communication.

Law enforcement report they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a individual noticed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish fluid.

The fluid had been drawn in the form of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Officers then located numerous other smeared vehicles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under laws outlawing the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Police report early analysis suggest the liquid was most likely blood from a person.

"Currently there is no indication as to its origin; authorities are presently not informed of any physical harm in relation with the incident," they stated.

City officials announced they were attempting "to unravel the mystery" and have asked to the residents for details.

A high-ranking political figure said the vandalism made him stunned and had to be solved quickly.

"This incident hits the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the right-wing violent incident in 2020," he wrote on a platform, referring to the death of nine people by a gunman focusing on people of migrant background in 2020.
